Disney's 26th Animation The Great Mouse Detective
The Great Mouse Detective is the Disney animated adventure which was released in 1986 after what many consider the low point in Disney animation, The Black Caldron.
The adventure begins in a search for a toy maker, Flaversham, who has been abducted to make a robot replica of the queen for the evil Ratigan (Vincent Price). Basil, aided by the intrepid Dr. Dawson, helps the toy maker's daughter, Olivia, search for her father. They foil Ratigan's plot and eventually save the queen.
The great mouse Detective was one of the first movies to blend computer generated images with hand drawn animation. This was quite a feat when the film was released in 1986.
